Daniël is a friend and a very talented designer. He now has a large project on kickstarter, where you finally get the chance to buy from him.
The Stainless Steel cutlery ‘Quid Feci’ by designer Daniel van Dijck is a feast for the eye. His unusual designs come from a very personal experience, which he beautifully translates into material.

The theme of the talk was Equality, and I was early in the morning in Rotterdam to speak about this, talk about my work with the Transketeers, and inspire other creatives to challenge stereotypes. The talk was recorded and is now online:
How do you talk about a tricky subject as trans*people at work? We, with the Transketeers, took this quest and made it into a pubquiz! We took real and relatable stories and created challenging questions for in our Quiz. Maybe you can win the trophee. And please don’t take yourself too seriously.
Here is one of the questions for a little tease of the project.
Darkrooms, for many people a place they never visited. For some people the place to experience a unique kind of intimacy. Stories from darkrooms often refer to (gay)men. Darkroom stories from women you don’t hear very often. That’s why we have 3 different stories from 3 different women who experienced a darkroom.
It has already been a while since I was on the set of Queer Amsterdam, the series of Bart and Toby, which they’ve been working on for a great amount of time. Upcoming Wednesday, everything will be online for views! Please watch the teaser now on Youtube!
I have been working on the website of my collective, the Transketeers. We work on making movies, fiction and documentary, and we work a lot on advocacy, positive and nuanced visibility for Transgenders. I very much encourage you to have a look around on the website, to not only our daily madness, but also see what kind of awesome projects we do! I love my two fellow Transketeers Bart and Jonah, and we have an awesome year ahead of us. So, go over to the website www.transketeers.com and give it a shot.
The vlog is in Dutch; the short summary is that we, the Transketeers, are participating in a Week of prejudice at the city hall of Utrecht. We perform a Privilege-Bingo, put up some provoking stickers and have more fun. Watch it!
Ja.
I work together with Werken zonder Grenzen (Working without Borders) to set up their crowdfunding campaign. Today it was a intense day of getting everything on tape, and in between I managed to shoot some portraits.
So I made a blitz-visit to Beograd, Serbia, to be there for a the opening with my work at photofestival Vizualizator. I experienced an incredibly interesting conversation (that lasted almost two full days) about the power of photography, lgbtq-rights and diversity. I was able to show the Trans*tapes there, talk to people there and eat the acid cabbage. It was a blast, I did sleep 5 hours in two days, and I would totally continue this journey I went on.
I did show my work Gender as a Performance, and some of the Steaming Studs.
As one of the organisers of the upcoming exhibition in the altes pfandhaus during the Photokina in Cologne. I would like to invite all who are interested to our special event on Sunday 25th September.
There will be a workshop figure drawing in the middle of the exhibition.
The exhibition is about gender, fluidity and performance and perception of gender and identity with work of Anja Schlamann, Chris Becher and Chris Rijksen.
Chris Rijksen, who also is featured with various self-portraits, will be the model for our figure drawing.
We will provide drawing equipment like paper, but we know most people are happier drawing with their own tools.
So, a quick recap: What? Figure drawing Where? Altes Pfandhaus
50678 Köln When? September 25, 16:00 How? Join and draw Why? It’s great!
It’s a pleasure to see that the Pretty&Fair website is up and running with some of my photos, and their instagram as well. I’m looking forward to the next time working with them, and I think it will be in the close future!
I’m happy to announce that I am at the official opening of the exhibition NEW REALITY in the ALTES PFANDHAUS in Cologne tomorrow. Together with with works of Anja Schlamann and Chris Becher we have a nice space with a lot of views on identity.
As I want to show you a bit of the mess I made for the photograph of UITWAS, I also want to point at the crowdfunding campaign they’re organising. Please take a look here for a video and an intriguing story.
Together with Jonah and Bart we started recording the Naked Truth. Videos where we answer questions, and giving the people that follow us on the internets a place to ask the questions they maybe are pondering upon. I’ll share a few of them here, you can see all of them on our FB-page
Jonah is talking about being vulnerable as visible trans*
I’m talking about what I might have lost in the process of transitioning.
We are working on a documentary project together with the first Transgender Choir of the Netherlands. This is a project with two subjects I’m very much engaged in; music and the empowerment of transpeople. I think it will be beautiful and I’m happy to share it with you. Please enjoy our teaser below!
So I had my most bad-ass shoot since ever. A bunch of girls organise every year the Basketball tournament Dunking Dykes and I was honoured to portray them for an interview. Unfortunately I cannot show all the images yet, but I have one from a behind the scenes moment that I cannot resist not sharing.
For the very special exhibition Transmission at Amsterdam Museum they included a snippet from our Trans*Tapes. I felt very honoured and happy to have my work in such an institute. They also included the print of L’HTBQ magazine, which meant that I was twice represented in this exhibition.
I work together in an experimental theater-piece of Suze Otting, with a large amount of improvisation. We all set a challenge for ourself and we try to complete it during the performance. I, as you might have guessed, am trying to fly.
